Biography: Chanda L. Kinsey graduated from James Madison University in 1976 with a B.S. in Political Science. She then attended William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she was awarded Best Oralist and Best Brief as a Moot Court Competitor. Ms. Kinsey graduated from William & Mary and received her J.D. in 1979.
Following law school, Ms. Kinsey served as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Fairfax County from 1979 to 1984. She was an Adjunct Professor at Northern Virginia Community College where she taught domestic relations, evidence, criminal law and procedure from 1986 to 1988. Ms. Kinsey appeared as a legal commentator on Fox Morning News in connection with the Lorena Bobbitt and O.J. Simpson cases. Ms. Kinsey was awarded Outstanding Community Woman for Springfield, Virginia in 1984 for her work on an arson case. Ms. Kinsey has conducted approximately 140 jury trials and thousands on bench trials. She is a member of the Virginia bar and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Ms. Kinsey's practice focuses on divorce and custody, protection orders, domestic assault, support, separation agreements and other civil and criminal family matters.
